Our fundraising dinner will coincide with World Suicide Prevention Day (which falls on 10 September) and is aptly named "The Andrew Barry & Love Your Pet Love Your Vet Evening of Hope", after Dr Nadine's cousin Andrew and the many others we have sadly lost to suicide.
The aim of our fundraising dinner is to raise much-needed funds to enable us to continue the life-saving work we are doing, as well as raising awareness of the disproportionate rate of suicide within the veterinary profession - and mental health in general.
We will have inspirational guest speakers sharing their stories over the course of the evening, as well as having raffles with some fantastic prizes to be won.
If we can make a difference for just one person and encourage them to reach out and seek support, then it will be worth it. However, we don't just want to stop at one person - we want everyone to feel supported and that there is always hope.
Hope for a better life. Hope for a happier life. Hope for the future.
We believe that reducing the stigma around mental illness is crucial to making a positive difference, and we ask you for your support and digging deep to help us to do this.
